
ABOUT US
The Navajo Nation, pursuant to Navajo Nation Code 10. § 301 et.seq. established the Diné Bi Olta School Board Association (DBOSBA) to represent local community school boards on the Navajo Nation. This Association is the only school board association recognized by the Navajo Nation to represent local community school boards; shall make recommendations concerning all BIA-funded schools and local community school boards; address the views and situations of both community controlled school boards and school boards of the schools operated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
PHILOSOPHY
The Navajo people, through its inherent sovereignty, will assume the responsibility of education for their children by establishing student-centered structures and to guide Navajo education.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Diné Bi Olta School Board Association (DBOSBA) will represent and support Navajo School Boards through advocacy and leadership development by collaborating with stakeholders to promote and strengthen Navajo education.
VISION STATEMENT
The Diné Bi Olta School Board Association will be the premier advocate for Navajo School Boards and stakeholders to ensure that all Navajo students are prepared to meet present and future challenges by providing comprehensive school board training, so that School Board members are accountable and knowledgeable about their local educational program.
